Revisit my old work – Contrast

As a part of getting back into photyography, I want to revisit som older pictures of mine. I want to try to have fresh look at them and reason about what I like about them, their composition ans so on. This will be an ongoing series with 2 – 4 images each around different topics.

This one is all about contrast, where I saw it and what I see in the pictures

Chained

This image is almost monochromatic, with the rusty chain of a boat dominating the picture. It is not completely dominating, since the focus is on the clear mirror image in the water. The image is taken with a low aperture and short exposure to realy get a crisp shot of the mirror image in the water.

I like the way both chains form a line that cuts in the middle of the image.

Standing Steady

An almost brutalist depiction of a bridge on a frozen lake. The darker greys of the bridge are in contrast to the snow covered lake. The island with the trees in the background add another dimension to the contrast, where the line of the steel construction lead the eyes towards the nature on the other side.
